I got my first and last mammogram in 2018 and it was absolutely horrifying.
They put your breast inside this machine one at a time and smash it down
flat as a pancake leaving your breast injured and exposed to radiation.

Good afternoon! I’ve had a mammogram twice and the results were “zero” problems. I’m not going to have a third one. In fact, I don’t trust gynecologists anymore. It’s like the post above says, it’s all about the money.
I like the idea of ultrasound. Wondering if ins. would pay for that. Radiation every year certainly builds up and is dangerous. Surely those companies get some kind of kickback for the numerous mammograms that are given. If your doc writes an order instead of a “screening” maybe it would pay for it…as a necessity. As the doctor states, and I’ve experienced it as well, if there’s a question about the procedure….more pictures are taken equaling more radiation….just to find out that it’s a shadow or something. With that said, I totally agree with her information and opinion.
