Good summary of the matter. Another key probable player: the Mafia. His brother Bobby, as his AG, was putting heat on them, even after they stole Illinois for Jack, which put him in the presidency. One would think that they were rather upset over that. So, who would the higher-ups look to to do the actual deed for them?? The experts in such matters. Along with the CIA, as payback for The Bay of Pigs debacle.
As for the rumors that a double was involved, and Jack actually lived on. Don’t know about that one. Color me skeptical. Unlike all the evidence that JFK Jr. is alive. Having faked his death (& that of his wife & her sister, to accompany him into the Witness Protection program), as cover specifically for the family’s intel that the Clintons & Co. would brook no hiccups on their path back into power.
