Bank Branch Closures Shake the Financial Landscape: Is Your Local Bank on the Chopping Block?”
In a shocking turn of events, some of the biggest names in American banking, including Bank of America, Chase, Capital One, US Bank, and PNC, have wielded the axe, striking down 41 of their brick-and-mortar branches in a single week. Is your neighborhood bank on the hit list? Read on to uncover the startling details of this financial upheaval.
The pillars of the American banking industry are trembling as Bank of America, Chase, Capital One, US Bank, and PNC, along with several others, embarked on a ruthless campaign to reshape the banking landscape. TOO BIG AND FAILED: In a span of just one week, they’ve mercilessly closed down 41 branches across the nation.
The Branch Closures Unveiled: PNC, in a bold move, announced its intention to shut down ten branches, effective January 15, spanning six states, including Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin. US Bank and Bank of America quickly followed suit, closing down nine and eight branches, respectively.

Even venerable institutions like First National Bank of Pennsylvania and Huntington weren’t spared, as they notified the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) of their intention to close four branches each.
Capital One’s Double Whammy: Capital One, not to be outdone, initially declared the closure of four branches, only to add two more in Virginia to the list. The repercussions of this seismic shift in banking operations are already being felt across the nation.
Other Players Join the Exodus: The shockwaves extended beyond the big names. Fifth Third, Chase, KeyBank, and Woodforest all joined the chorus, announcing their branch closures during that fateful week. However, the same banks that decided to shutter some locations also paradoxically sought to establish new branches. Huntington, Fifth Third, US Bank, Bank of America, and Woodforest each filed applications to open new branches, leaving us all baffled by this rollercoaster of banking decisions.
Chase Defies the Trend: Chase, on the other hand, seems to be swimming against the tide. The bank continued its expansion spree by opening two new branches in Ohio and Kentucky during that week. This net gain of one branch during this period was emblematic of their strategy. In 2023, while other banks were hastily closing branches, Chase defied the odds by closing 157 but remarkably opening 195 new ones. It stands alone as the only leading bank entering 2024 with more brick-and-mortar locations than it had the previous year.
The Banking Landscape Transformation: The numbers don’t lie. The United States, once brimming with over 85,000 bank branches in 2011, has seen a dramatic reduction of nearly 13,000 branches over the past decade. This seismic shift is a result of several factors, chief among them being the rapid rise of online banking, a trend that accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Pandemic Effect: The pandemic acted as a catalyst for the already-growing adoption of online banking. While 2020 witnessed the most significant decline in the number of branches, the subsequent years have seen a relentless wave of closures. The “TOO BIG AND FAILED” branches are now being trimmed down in response to the industry’s digital revolution.
The Ongoing Evolution: According to Greg McBride, Chief Financial Analyst for Bankrate.com,
“The trend for the future is more consolidation of branch locations, but branches are not going away. There are still going to be bank operations, as a center for consultation or as a sales floor, but they are used less and less for routine transactions, which are increasingly done digitally.”

Regional Impact: A recent analysis by DailyMail.com of OCC data reveals that banks in California and the Midwest have been hit the hardest. Dozens of banks have filed notices to close a staggering total of 1,566 branches in these regions. In contrast, they’ve only notified the regulator of plans to open a mere 472 branches, highlighting the magnitude of this transformation.

If people were smart … when changes fall into place … they should do with these long-time-too-big-for-their-britches-banks … what they should have done BUT DID NOT … with all the TRUTH SUPPRESSING SOCIAL MEDIA CLOWNS …
*** PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS BY WALKING AWAY AND SETTING UP SHOP WITH THE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK that will come I suspect when all falls into place with said changes; LIAR SOCIAL MEDIAS for example were replaced by the likes of RUMBLE … BITCHUTE … BRIGHTEON … although latter two especially are as much fear mongering as our still and current MSM demonic fools who wouldn’t know truth if they fell over it.
I was going to say … WHY DO WE DO THIS, although not me, humbly speaking … but I know the answer already … and sadly … people still don’t want to hear it … and instead they run from the truth they need … being the only inerrant and infallible truth known to man … sad sad unnecessary shame … brainwashed into believing anything and everything BUT said truth needed.
Is there really going to be an RV, money transition ???
