This article demonstrates the high degree of brainwashing that has been engaged in on the American public for generations To wit:
The Biden admin has not been engaged in various assaults on the U.S. Constitution because of the various amendments referred to. It has been engaged in various assaults on the U.S. Constitution because the federal government is one of limited and delegated powers – “few and defined,” in the rather authoritative words of the man fairly called the Father of the Constitution, James Madison – and didn’t/doesn’t have those powers in the FIRST place.
The first eight amendments to the U.S. Constitution are simply a list of EXAMPLES of rights and powers not having been ceded to the newly proposed federal government in the newly proposed U.S. Constitution to have any jurisdiction over – as indicated by the 9th and 10th Amendments. Thus, the First Amendment reads: “Congress shall make no law respecting” such-and-such; it does NOT say ‘Neither the U.S. Congress nor any State shall’ etc. etc. And the Fifth Amendment’s Due Process Clause did not apply to the States until the passage of the 14th Amendment, in the wake of the Civil War. All those sorts of issues were retained in the purview of the individual States’s constitutions; the federal government being limited mostly to international and interstate matters.
The confusion apparently crept in with the passage of said 14th Amendment, when a bit of legalistic legerdemain was introduced, in the form of the word and weaselly concept of ‘Incorporation,’ with some legal beagles arguing that all of the powers and rights referred to in the first 8 amendments were henceforth to be ‘incorporated’ into the federal government’s power to elucidate upon, and rule over. Not. So.
It’s not only time to return to clarity on this issue, and for the sake of the learning lesson that it involves. But to move on. We have other fish to fry, now. Involving not only this country. But the entire world. For us to move into a New Era. On the basis of such fundamental lessons.
The primary one being to learn to live by the rule of Law. The U.S. Constitution being a contract. Not a ‘living document’. Aka a wet noodle.
