You are correct in some things but there were 12 tribes of Israel not 10. Jacob was the patriarch of all the tribes. He had 12 sons. All were called Israel. He blessed his son Joseph’s 2 sons born in Egypt, Ephraim and Manasseh. Israel and Judah split after King Solomon died. They warred against each other and then Israel( northern kngdom) went into captivity by the Assyrians (never returned). Read 2 Kings. Only Judah was left (sceptor nation) but they went into captivity later by the Babylonians but God brought them back because Christ was to be born in Judah, the sceptor nation.
